Borderlands 3: How to Unlock Artifacts
Table of Contents
Unlocking Artifacts in Borderlands 3 will allow you to further customize your character build. Like weapon slots, Artifacts are essentially tied to progressing in the game. More importantly, you’ll need to progress through the main story missions to unlock Artifacts in Borderlands 3.
You need to find the Eridian Synchronizer on Eden-6 to unlock Artifacts
You’ll unlock the Artifacts slot in your loadout once you’ve reached Eden-6. As you head towards the end of the story missions on this planet you will ultimately square-off against a monster that is protecting the vault. Inside said vault is an item called the Eridian Synchronizer. This item will grant you the ability to actually unlock the ability to equip Artifacts.
Artifacts give your character unique powerful abilities
So what do the Artifacts do exactly? Well these items grant random attributes to different aspects of your character build. It really depends on the Artifact itself as to what the results will be. They will ultimately make your character more powerful in one way or another.
After you’ve collected the Eridian Synchronizer and unlocked artifacts you will be able to pick these items up just as you do guns, grenades, shields and other loot.
